Artie Schiller’s Gliding By set for Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1)

Gliding By will make her Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) start Friday at Keeneland under the care of a new trainer following a partial sale recently. Greenwood Lodge, who campaigned the 2-year-old daughter of Artie Schiller to this point, sold an interest in the dark bay filly to Adam Wachtel and Brous Stable LLC. She will be saddled by Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott this weekend.

Gliding By has made just one start to date, but looked spectacular in rallying from last to first to take a one mile maiden special weight by two lengths Sept. 25 at Woodbine. Bred on both sides to excel on the grass, Gliding By’s third dam was a European stakes winner on turf and she is a direct female descendent of English Champion 2-year-old filly Noblesse. Artie Schiller, who won the 2005 Breeders’ Cup Mile and over $2 million in his brilliant career, is the sire of four graded stakes winners this year. Gliding By drew post 12 in the field of 14 and will be ridden by Jose Lezcano. The race is scheduled as the eighth on Friday's 10-race card, with an approximate post time of 4:50 p.m. ET.
