Vinery Sales Named Consignor for Keeneland November Sale

For Immediate Release:

September 17th, 2015

Lexington, Kentucky

Kentucky breeder, Calloway Stables, names Vinery Sales as consignor for their bloodstock during the 2015 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Calloway Stables, owned by Tyler Alexander and Clint Joiner, brings a wealth of experience and passion for breeding. Alexander says, “We’re trying to create a brand that tells buyers Calloway Stables' stock receives top care in the industry...from our broodmares, through pregnancy and foaling, and right up to the sale. We understand that not everyone comes to market with unlimited funds, but everyone does want the best product possible in that budget. We're putting out that product.”

Joiner adds, “To put forth the best product possible, no matter level of the market, you have to rely on good partners. Our team is some of the best in the industry: Bev Govert’s experienced group at Windham Hill Farm, Josh Stevens of JS Bloodstock, Derek MacKenzie at Vinery Sales, Alan Porter with True Nicks, and our vet team at Rood & Riddle.”

Says Derek Mackenzie, Vinery Sales, “Calloway has really done their homework, and we look forward to working with them. The horses they are consigning offer exceptional value and tremendous upside for buyers including a precocious Artie Schiller colt and Fort Larned’s first foal, a dark bay colt out of an Awesome Again mare.”

“As a breeder and buyer, this colt is an exciting prospect. His sire, Fort Larned, was a top class two-turn horse with speed. His dam, Belvedera, hails from a strong distaff family and is by a top broodmare sire in Awesome Again. He is a good looking, leggy colt with plenty of hip and a deep shoulder. There's a lot to be enthusiastic about here…” says Josh Stevens, J. Stevens Bloodstock about Fort Larned’s first foal.

Alan Porter, TrueNicks / Pedigree Consultants, LLC comments on the Artie Schiller colt, “By grade one sire, Artie Schiller, out of a young Exchange Rate mare, this colt is bred on a similar cross to Artie Schiller's graded stakes winning fillies I Love It and Big Chill."
